Filmmaking is a chance to live many lifetimes. Robert Altman
Filmmaking
In the world with video context available everywhere from movies theaters and television, to the internet, and even as part of our shopping and recreational experiences, Introduction to Digital Filmmaking is a course designed to increase students' understanding of and appreciation for the content all around them through hands-on experience with digital video production.
This course will focus on the three phases of production common to all film and video production: pre-productions (planning for a project by writing a script and creating a plan for visual elements), production (recording video and generating digital content), and post-production (editing and the addition of computer graphics and special effects).
The material in the course will not only be useful for students who wish to pursue a course of study in filmmaking, video production, digital media, the visual arts, or fields related to communication, but will also give employable digital media skills to students who wish to pursue other fields and careers, and it supports students' general studies by emphasizing writing, interpretation, critical thinking, and time management skills.
